AxoGuard® is comprised of a 3-dimensional extracellular matrix that supports regeneration and healing. It works with the body’s natural healing process to:
- Repair. Isolates and protects the nerve during the healing process.2
- Remodel. Gradually incorporated with patient’s own cells to form a tissue similar to the nerve’s
epineurium.2, 6, 7, 8
- Revascularize. Encourages capillary ingrowth to bring vascularity to the repair site.2, 6, 8
- Resistant to Infection. Able to be used in a contaminated field. Revascularization allows the body’s defense mechanisms to reach and respond to infection.9, 10, 11
