and sponsorships
We are dedicated to advancing independent scientific and medical research,
supporting educational programs, and assisting charitable projects that align
with our mission to restore health and improve quality of life by making
restoration of peripheral nerve function an expected standard of care.
Program overview
Medical societies, national associations, third-party educational conferences, medical outreach organizations, charitable organizations, health care institutions, academic institutions, academic medical centers, and HCPs acting on their behalf should submit requests for funding through our compliance & grants portal.
- Requests should be submitted well ahead of the event
- All requests are reviewed by a central committee that has the authority to approve or decline requests based on merit, fit with our mission, and availability of resources
- Only complete applications submitted online are eligible for review by the committee
- Amount awarded may be less than the amount requested
- Do not assume that a request has been approved
- Sales representatives, agents or distributors may not discuss, facilitate, or commit Axogen support for any grant or charitable contribution
- We receive many worthwhile requests; however, due to budget limitations, we cannot fund them all
- Previous funding does not guarantee future support
- Requestors will receive an email notification of approval or denial after the committee has made its decisions

All proposals will be evaluated individually and must comply with Axogen’s Health Care Code, internal policies, and all applicable laws and regulatory guidance
Prohibited
- Unrestricted grants – all grants are restricted to specific, documented requests as they have been approved
- Direct funding made payable to an individual or healthcare professional (HCP) or HCP-in-training
- Funding for programs located at venues not conducive to the underlying educational purpose of the event
- Funding for events that are predominantly social or entertainment-oriented, including cocktail hours
- Funding for events that have already occurred
- Purchasing of textbooks and journal subscriptions
- Multi-year pledges
- Fundraising events
- Provision of products that will be used or demonstrated for use clinically in off-label indications
Research grants
Third-party investigators or clinicians seeking funding for investigator-initiated studies or research collaborations.
Indirect costs for research grants are capped at 15%

Educational providers offering CME or non-CME programs, academic institutions, or organizers of scientific, clinical, or medical conferences seeking funding for independent medical education grants, or research conferences.
Axogen does not allow for indirect costs on educational grants

Sponsorships
Medical associations, society and healthcare professional organizations, or academic institutions seeking funding for exhibits, or sponsorships.
Payment for commercial sponsorships must represent a commercially reasonable fee/fair-market-value for the marketing and promotional benefits received.

Charitable donations
Nonprofit organizations, medical outreach organizations, professional or patient organizations, health care institutions, or medical centers seeking charitable donations for charitable purposes, including indigent care or events benefiting domestic or international humanitarian needs.

Requests are reviewed on a rolling basis. For indigent patients, we ask for submission of a completed application at least one (1) month prior to the date of scheduled surgery. For medical missions, we ask for submission of a completed application at least eight (8) weeks prior to the date of need. Register and apply now.
Guiding Compliance Standards
Awarding of grants, donations, or sponsorships are not intended to induce nor obligate any person or entity to purchase, prescribe, order or otherwise make use of (or arrange for/recommend the use of) Axogen’s products or services.
We comply with Axogen’s Health Care Code, the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, 42 U.S.C. § 1320a-7b, and all other applicable laws and guidance.
Axogen adheres to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education and does not influence the content or management of third-party programs. Our support is never contingent on the sponsor’s choice of topics, faculty, or attendees.
The U.S. Physician Payment Sunshine Act requires all pharmaceutical, biologic and medical device manufacturers, including Axogen, to report annually to the U.S. government any payments and transfers of value made to U.S. physicians and teaching hospitals. We report all third-party support provided in accordance with these applicable laws and regulations.
