David Muir, Ph.D.
Dr. David Muir is a world leader in nerve regeneration and repair research and development. He is a joint professor of neuroscience and pediatrics at the University of Florida’s renowned McKnight Brain Institute and has been awarded more than $3.5 million from the National Institute of Health and other sources to support his research on the peripheral nervous system. He has authored many journal publications on peripheral nerve repair and is the principal inventor of several UF nerve repair technologies. He received his Ph.D. from the Mount Sinai Medical Center at the City University of New York and his BS from Tulane University in Psychobiology.

Bruce A. Mast, MD
Dr. Bruce Mast graduated with honors from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1987. He completed training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Pittsburg and Children’s Hospital. From 1995 to 2000, Dr. Mast was on the faculty of the University of Florida Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery where he was involved in most aspects of plastic and cosmetic surgery teaching and patient care. Dr. Mast joined Accent Physician Specialists in 2000. Dr. Mast has lectured internationally and has published over 45 journal articles and book chapters. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Steven Moran, MD
Dr. Steven Moran is an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota. He received his MA and BA at Williams College and earned his MD at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York. Following his residency at the Rochester Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in Hand and Micro-vascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Moran is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is the recipient of the Mayo Fellows Association Teacher of the Year Award for 2005. Dr. Moran has published over 40 journal articles, book chapters, and abstracts. His memberships include the American Association of Hand Surgery, American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, and the American Society of Surgery of the Hand.

Dr. Peter Scardino, MD, FACS
Dr. Peter Scardino is recognized internationally as an expert in the early detection and surgical treatment of prostate cancer. He has pioneered techniques to decrease the effects of surgery on urinary and sexual functions and increase the chances of long term control of cancer by total removal of the prostate. Dr. Scardino and his colleagues are using modern medical informatics (artificial intelligence) to develop methods to predict the aggressiveness of prostate cancers and to determine whether some cancers may not need to be treated. His research has also focused on the identification of tissue and genetic markers that signal the behavior of prostate cancer. He has experience in the treatment of prostate cancers that recur after surgery or radiation therapy and is currently studying the benefits of focal, image-guided therapy for very early stage cancers.

Dr. Badrinath Konety, MD, MBA
Dr. Badrinath Konety received his undergraduate training in science at St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore University in India. He earned his MBBS (MD equivalent) at the MS Ramaiah Medical College of Bangalore University. Following his residency training at the University of Pittsburg in General Surgery and Urology, Dr. Konety was an AFUD Research Scholar at the University of Pittsburg Department of Urology and Cancer Institute, concurrently studying business and receiving a MBA from the University Of Pittsburg Katz School Of Business. Dr. Konety completed his medical education at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as Chief Clinical Fellow. Dr. Konety joined the University of California, San Francisco from the University of Iowa where he was Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology. Dr. Konety has authored and co-authored more than 70 original publications and numerous book chapters. He received the Jahnigen Career Development Scholar Award, and is an active member of numerous professional medical societies. Dr. Konety is currently Co-Program Director, Genitourinary Cancer Epidemiology and Population Science (G-CEPS), and Associate Professor, Department of Urology, at the University of California, San Francisco.
